initiative reform legislation Community Leadership Senator Werk Procures Largest Reinvestment Grant Award for Neighborhood Association - The Franklin Randolph Bench Neighborhood Association, led by Senator Werk, was the recipient of the largest amount of Neighborhood Reinvestment grant funds from Boise City. Senator Werk's association won two grants totaling over $32,000 for park equipment enhancements and a study of a pressurized irrigation system. Click here to view the entire article.
Neighborhood Safety Enhanced by Local Safe Routes to School Program Initiated by Senator Werk - ACHD and Senator Werk completed a neighborhood
safety audit as part of the local Safe Routes to School program
initiated by Senator Werk and the neighborhood association. The
resulting changes, including 37 new stop signs and numerous crosswalks,

Senator Werk Publishes Safe Routes to School Readers View - "In the last decade, seven Idaho children have been killed during the commute hours to and from school. In addition, 785 children have suffered injuries -- many serious. That totals 792 serious accidents involving children or almost 80 children per year, or seven per month, or almost two children injured per week. This is unacceptable."
