Post Session Public Forum With Senator Elliot Werk and Representatives Sue Chew and Bill Killen - Wednesday, April 11th, Borah High School Library, 7:00 - 9:00 PM

Senator Elliot Werk and Representatives Sue Chew and Bill Killen (Team 17) invite you to a public forum to discuss the 2007 legislative session and upcoming legislative and community initiatives. The forum will be held on Wednesday, April 11, 2007, from 7:00 - 9:00 pm in the library at Borah High School (6001 Cassia - just west of Curtis Road). We would love for you to come with questions, comments, suggestions, or just to get better informed.

The 2007 legislative session is quickly becoming known as the "DO NOTHING LEGISLATIVE SESSION" because of the failure to act on important issues like the tax on food, minimum childcare standards, additional property tax relief, public transportation, environmental issues, elk farming practices, and needed ethics reform. Issues that also were also considered included healthcare, substance abuse treatment, an attempt to shift more business taxes to homeowners, special interest legislation, GARVEE bonding, English as the official state language, various state budgets, community colleges, and education.

Team 17 wants to touch base with you about these and any other issues that are important to you. In addition, we will be working hard over the next nine months on legislative and community initiatives like affordable health insurance for small business, identity theft, infill development, public transportation, eliminating the tax on food, community-based substance abuse treatment and more. We need your help to focus on the issues that are important to you, our community and our state.

So please come and join us on Wednesday, April 11th at 7:00 PM in the Borah High School Library. As usual we will have great snacks, good conversation, and some laughs. If you have any questions please call Senator Werk at 658-0388 or simply respond to this message.

We hope to See you there!
